When my lorriethomas.com emails began bouncing, I was annoyed that I had to take time away from work to address mind-numbing administrative work, but I figured the solution would quick and simple – clearing some space or pay for more storage and that would be the end of it.

I was horrified to see that I had emails from over ten years ago and not work-related ones but years and yeaaaaars of promotional marketing related crap that was cluttering not only my inbox, but was indirectly draining my professional energy.

It took me hours to clean out this inbox, but in doing so, I was reminded of a saying I apply at home:

Clutter is the junk food of the home.

While I live a fairly clutter-free life at home (my fridge and pantry are clean, I don’t leave things lying around, most everything has it’s place), I was not carrying my cleanliness over to my professional life. I was hauling around a lot of baggage from professional years past by holding onto years of email crap….pointless email crap.

Once I purged, I found I had the energetic space to get on top of things. I didn’t realize how buried I felt previously. I now actively unsubscribe from promotional emails. I used to just ignore them, but now that I see how overwhelmed the noise made me feel, I don’t ever want to go back to that again!

De-cluttering feels SO GOOD! And inspires you to purge more! Next, I looked at my email marketing company (the one I use to send messages to Wild Web Women and Web Marketing Therapy lists) and was able to downgrade and cut my monthly costs by over $200/month.

Purging boosts your happiness, health and wealth because it creates energetic space to take charge of your life.

It’s not just for your home, do it for your business and you will feel a difference!

And small steps compound to make a big difference.

What can you cut that weighs you down?

Think about it…..then cut it!
